View image in fullscreen Punishment gluttony … detail from Gustave Doré’s illustration of Dante’s Inferno, here showing the Fifth Circle, where the wrathful are punished. I have enjoyed the range of this collection with its humour, its humanity, generosity, intelligence, love of the richness of life and the attention to the craft - that good, old-fashioned craft - at every level. All at once she is captivated and plunged into a world she never knew existed, but the deeper her obsession with Draven becomes, the harder it is to decide. Please do not purchase this version if you do not have and are not prepared to install, Adobe Digital Editions. Warning: This audiobook not only has sexual content but is amazingly addictive, with its dark mystery, haunting horror, seductive twists and one sexy dark lord that has the listener drooling every time the name Draven is heard!

Any time the book seemed to pick up and get interesting, it would plummet back into boring, dragging, bullshit. Lauren James is the twice Carnegie-nominated British author of many Young Adult novels, including The Loneliest Girl in the Universe and The Quiet at the End of the World. This makes her seem like a thirteen year old drama queen, not an intelligent and artistic history major in her early twenties!

Upon her first night at the club, she spots Dominic DRAVEN as he enters the club in what is traditionally known as his once in an annual visit, however she can't help but feel she has seen him before - in her dreams! It is worth the whole saga thing that is becoming so popular but frustrating, I have read the second one as well and can not wait for the third installment of this series.

There are only a couple of occasions when I felt things were getting a little too muddled, but they were soon sorted. Out in the UK this December, this Selected Poems should introduce Stallings's mastery to a wider public.

From page one, the author launches herself in filling the pages with descriptions of Kiera's surroundings, down to the details of her every step. With Keira finding death at her door, she is suddenly plunged into a world of the unknown and has to face it alone.

Having experienced a hairy, slobbery encounter with a Newf when I was twenty while wearing a white dress, I knew the myth of Emily, pristinely dressed, untouched by the more earthy emotions was wrong. But making it through the gates of Hell and back in one piece isn’t something they can expect or take lightly. It is apparent from the offset that Kiera has gone through a terrifying ordeal and this move is the start of a new chapter in her life. Afterlife is an opulent Gothic nightclub that belongs in a big city, not in the small town of Evergreen Falls…Just like its forbidding owner does, Dominic Draven. His hell is a humid wasteland of half-finished hotels and broken-down railways where inexhaustible cheap wine and pasta are grumpily served. At first I was not too sure about this book as it really is not something I am into or so I thought, boy am I glad I took the chance. Each book represents a chapter in the broader narrative, introducing new twists, turns, and perhaps the occasional talking dragon (disclaimer: dragons depend on the genre). I think she was supposed to feel ashamed of the way she spoke to Draven – or maybe she thought she wasn’t good enough, as she was just an average girl and he was the boss. I loved all the characters and the world and the powers that are given to Dominick Dravin are all kinds of bad ass!

Keira soon finds herself becoming a pawn in a game she could never hope to win, and now the King on the board is a Vampire on a mission. I have a problem with a book that introduces a specific subject as a big deal but then doesn’t do anything else with it. The battle against evil continues in the most unlikely of places and emotions run wild in this next instalment of the Afterlife saga. The end of days might be over for our newlyweds, but the dark nights are closing in, and what lies waiting in the shadows is what even nightmares are afraid of.
