About this deal

Trying to figure out a way to change her life, shake up her boring existence, Kim decides to lose her virginity. She's heard that's a life-changing experience, so it's worth a shot. The icing on the cake, for me, was how intelligent she was. I especially enjoyed all the meticulous research she did on serial killers to help her understand and follow her own desires and instincts. This story follows high school Junior, Kim White, who is beautiful, smart, popular and the star of the cheer squad. Girls want to be her and everyone wants to be with her. She has the world in the palm of her hand. Un vortice di violenza, sadismo, sangue, tanto sangue non basta più a soddisfare le voglie di Kim, ormai in preda ad un delirio allucinatorio.

Kim is a beautiful and popular 16-year-old cheerleader with suicidal thoughts and a general pessimism for life in general. She wants something new to change her perspective, to make her feel alive, and she decides that based on what her friends have been telling her, sex is the answer. But sex alone isn’t enough for Kim, who likes to set herself apart. Instead, she sets her sights on her sex-ed teacher and finds him all-too-willing after a few gentle nudges. When Kim finds out she’s pregnant with her teacher’s child, a new madness overtakes her, and she realizes there’s only one thing that will satisfy her baby’s hunger . . .

Kim seems perfect. She is perfect. She says and does all the right things. According to her father, her teachers, and her friends. It's twisted, deranged and I enjoyed how it sort of flipped the script on the sex-violence connection. After Kim discovers her attraction to torture porn, her imagination runs wild and she'll stop at nothing to reach new levels of euphoria. Estremo, hardcore, pieno di citazioni ai più famosi serial killer della storia come Ed Gein e Richard Ramirez, in una all of fame in cui Kim White sarebbe sicuramente sul podio. Nothing changes in her perspective, but she soon finds she quite enjoys making her teacher squirm in fear of being found out. What follows is an increasingly depraved descent into cruelty and madness, blood-soaked and full of fun twists. Now, Triana doesn’t convey Kim as an ugly nobody. She’s a popular cheerleader and is absolutely gorgeous. However, she is still a teenager. While she conveys typical teenager behavior, such as obsessing over losing her virginity, Triana mentions some of the details to make Kim’s character realistic. She talks about her period, compares herself to her best friend (something all women do, no matter how attractive we are), and discusses her weird meat cravings, which yes us women get crazy cravings.

The thing that was so great about this though, is it's such a fluid story. The plot is cohesive and the pace, as well as the intensity somehow continue to build throughout until the absolute vomit-inducing end. My only complaint is the reliance on some tropes that I believe to be a bit dated. The heavy emphasis on the BDSM torture porn and graphic horror films made for small blemishes in an otherwise beautiful and original portrait of madness. But these small nods to infamous video nasties didn't take away from the landscape of misery enough to sour my opinion. This book will not be for everyone but it was definitely for me. It managed to take my mind off of the current hellish timeline we’re caught up in and thrust me into someone else's for a few hours.Violence isn’t typically this Murakami’s style—he’s more a magical ears and talking cats kind of guy, but if you’ve read this novel, you know exactly what I’m talking about: a single scene in an otherwise nonviolent novel that is so viscerally upsetting that anyone who reads it is unlikely to forget. It begins like this: “His men held Yamamoto down with their hands and knees while he began skinning Yamamoto with the utmost care. It truly was like skinning a peach.” As you can see, the author nor the publisher asked me to review the book. I spent my own money on the book and all of the thoughts I’m sharing here are 100% my own. Who Is Kim? And then she discovers that she is pregnant. But it seems as though she's not carrying an ordinary child. Baby wants in on the fun, too.... As you can guess, I love stories that feature female killers. Hello, have you read Dissecting House? Now, more psychopathic female murderers are starting to become more popular as opposed to women killing in revenge horror, which is where we previously saw most female killers in horror. I absolutely love this trend, so I’m always on the hunt for a good crazy female serial killer story. Sixteen-year-old Kim White is not like most of her peers. For one thing: she is attractive, popular, and comes from a wealthy family, but she hates it all. She’s “grown weary of the same brats and bitches” in her life at school and has no interest in sex or in being touched or losing her virginity to some “hairy flesh-bag… belching out testosterone-fueled lies and flexing their incomplete, teenage bodies.” She, however, is intrigued by how her friends tell her sex has changed their lives: “suddenly your childhood is gone, and the whole world just looks different.” Even more intriguing to Kim is the hardcore bondage porn she discovers on the Internet. She begins to think losing her virginity “to an adult—and a teacher at that—would be an unconventional, drastic move. It would be a dark and dirty thing with all of the makings of a game-changer.” And thus, the fun—and the terror—begins in Kristopher Triana’s latest dark thriller, Full Brutal (2018).
