Description

The game is more varied if you combine it with the original game "Rhino Hero"(item #: 4789). The walls from this game can be used as short walls. And if you use the additional Rhino Hero figure you can play with 5 players! On a player’s turn, they begin by selecting a floor card to use. Each card shows one or two wall symbols, and may show a spider-monkey as well. Walls come in two heights, so the player takes the walls shown on their card and adds them to the tower, placing the floor card on top of them. HABA Games had their work cut out for them in trying to improve upon the crossover hit that was Rhino Hero… and they completely succeeded. Rhino Hero: Super Battle is incredibly fun, easy to learn, and definitely is not just for kids. Sure, you can play this one with your little ones, and then once you shove them off to bed, play again without them. Super Battle emulates the perfect crescendo; a smooth and circumspect event but as the skyscraper grows, the tension begins to build until the grand finale of everything toppling over and exploding like a firework of urban landscape. On a turn, players will add either tall walls or short walls to a dictated by a floor piece that has already been played. You may also have to add a dastardly spider monkey to the construction! Then you will add your own floor piece for someone else to build on.

Each turn, you choose a floor card from your hand that determines which and how many wall cards you will use (short or tall) to support the floor card. The walls are placed on the tower (either on the base level or on previously played floors) with the floor on top of them. If the floor shows a monkey, you have to hang a spider monkey from the floor card. Then, if the floor card shows a spider-monkey icon, the player takes a spider-monkey token and hangs it off the floor they just placed. Refer to the Rhino Hero accessibility teardown for a full discussion of this.. The accessibility issues are identical and as such we strongly recommend it in this category. Socioeconomic accessibilityBut these are used to indicate the ‘easy’ versus ‘hard’ sides of the board and as such they convey no ongoing gameplay information. You can tell them apart by how many build points are displayed – the side with the fewest build points is the difficult one. A review copy of Rhino Hero: Super Battle was provided by HABA in exchange for a fair and honest review. Version Reviewed Okay, this isn’t going to be the most exhaustive look at a game we’ve ever taken – a lot of what we’d do here has already been discussed and defined within our teardown of Rhino Hero. Rhino Hero: Super Battle is a slightly better game in our view – worth four of our gold foil covered stars. It’s not though hugely different in its accessibility profile.

Build points on the foundational boards are either red or yellow, and this creates an accessibility issue of sorts for some players with colour blindness:Build a spectacular 3D cardboard skyscraper. Two different height walls create wobbly excitement. Players can even start from multiple foundations and join the towers together with bridges. The game can be made more difficult by having the game board show less than 10 build points. At the start of the game arrange the three base pieces however you want. If only the red starting points are shown then there are only 5 points and you have chosen the most difficult starting setup... and/or by only allowing only one hand to be used for building. And it's even more difficult if players are only allowed to use their less dominant hand!
